Publiforum: ASPP’s Listserv on Electronic Publication

Given the importance and vitality of listservs as a means of scholarly communication, the Aid to Scholarly Publications Programme (ASPP) has established a moderated electronic discussion group, Publiforum, to focus on problems of print-on-paper and electronic research dissemination in the social sciences and humanities. Issues will include:

• copyright;
• various questions concerning electronic journals, WWW and e-mail applications in the humanities and social sciences;
• archiving and access to electronic publications;
• costs of e-publishing;
• the role of print publications in the future, both journals and books;
• any other research dissemination issues of interest to subscribers.

The listserv will allow the Humanities and Social Sciences Federation of Canada (HSSFC) to survey developments in print and e-publishing in Canada and to get a sense of what the scholarly community is doing and thinking about in this important domain.
